Overview

EasyRoofEstimate.com is a free roof replacement cost estimator for Wisconsin homeowners. We are committed to being transparent about what data we collect, why we collect it, and what we do with it. The short version: we collect only what's necessary to provide the estimate, we never sell your data, and you are never required to give us your contact information to use the tool.

What we collect and why

When you enter an address to get an estimate: We collect the address you enter and pass it to Google's servers to obtain your property's coordinates and satellite roof measurements. We store the address, formatted address, roof measurements (area, pitch), and the date and time of the request in our database. This helps us understand usage patterns and improve the tool. No personal information is collected at this stage.

When you request a contractor quote: If you choose to request a quote, you provide your first name, last name (optional), phone number, property address, and approximate roof age. You must also check a consent box explicitly agreeing to have your information shared with a contractor. We store this information along with the estimate we provided. This step is entirely optional — you receive a full estimate without providing any personal information.

How we use your data

Address and roof data: Used to generate your cost estimate and stored for aggregate analysis (e.g. understanding which Wisconsin areas use the tool most). We do not sell or share address data.
Contact information: Only collected when you explicitly request a contractor quote and check the consent box. Your name and phone number are shared with one local licensed contractor for the purpose of providing you a roof quote. We do not share your contact information with anyone else, and we do not sell it.
Lead notification: When you submit a quote request, a notification email is sent to our team so we can connect you with a contractor promptly.

What we do not do

We do not sell your data to any third party
We do not use advertising cookies or tracking pixels
We do not share your information with multiple contractors or lead networks
We do not require an account or signup to use the estimator
We do not send you marketing emails

Third-party services

Google Geocoding API: Converts your address to geographic coordinates. Your address is sent to Google's servers. Google Privacy Policy
Google Solar API: Uses your coordinates to retrieve satellite roof measurements. Google Privacy Policy
Google Places API: Powers the address autocomplete dropdown in your browser. Google Privacy Policy
Resend: Delivers transactional email notifications when a quote is requested. Your contact information is included in these emails. Resend Privacy Policy
Cloudflare: Hosts the website and API, and provides security and performance services. Cloudflare may process request metadata (IP addresses, browser information) as part of normal web traffic handling. Cloudflare Privacy Policy

Data storage and retention

Address lookup data (anonymous roof estimates) is retained indefinitely for aggregate analysis. Contact information submitted with quote requests is retained for up to 12 months, after which it is deleted. You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us.

Cookies

We do not use tracking or advertising cookies. Cloudflare may set a technical cookie for security purposes (bot detection and DDoS protection). No personally identifiable information is stored in cookies.

Your rights

You may request a copy of any data we hold about you, or request that it be deleted, by emailing us at info@easyroofestimate.com. Since anonymous estimates are not linked to any personal information, only quote request data is retrievable by name.

Children's privacy

EasyRoofEstimate is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the tool after changes constitutes acceptance.
